Class Balance, Progression & Gameplay Changes

Who This Version of Vanilla WoW Is For

FrogCraft is for players who still value what made Vanilla work in the first place: exploration, risk, class identity and cooperation. It is aimed at people who enjoy groups and guilds, and who want a more controlled power curve instead of progression narrowing into spreadsheet exercises and a handful of mandatory outliers.

If you are looking for extreme burst, broken scaling or a server built around the same old min-max exploitation, it is deliberately not that.

What You Get — and What You Lose

The structure, atmosphere and pace of Vanilla remain, while systems that caused balance to break down are pulled back. The trade is broader class viability, steadier progression and encounters that depend more on execution and gear, with less dependence on extreme burst, world buffs, consumables and edge-case item interactions.

Balanced Core Mechanics

Core scaling is tightened throughout progression. Spell ranks are removed, abilities grow naturally with level, and talent and item changes raise the lower end of performance while upper-end scaling is kept from spiraling away.

Class and Role Viability

Classes retain their familiar identity and utility, but fewer specializations should feel unfinished or non-functional. The goal is not perfect equality between every specialization; it is to narrow the gap enough that far fewer choices become dead ends. Hybrid tanks in particular receive the support needed to function and progress in their role.

Gear and Item Progression

Item progression follows a smoother curve instead of depending on a few oversized jumps from particular tiers, sets or items. Upgrades remain meaningful without allowing late-game outliers to distort the rest of progression.

Social and Gameplay Flow

Leveling and endgame progression are intended to unfold more steadily. Tanks, healers and hybrids retain value across different kinds of content, keeping guilds, coordination and organized group play more important than solo optimization.
